Arrest of Bloomfield Man on Burglary Charge
Date: July 8, 2015
On Wednesday, July 8, 2015, police arrested 27 year-old John J. Carluccio of Bloomfield on a charge that he burglarized a Ridge Road home. The incidents leading to Carluccio’s arrest began at 2:01 a.m. when police received a 9-1-1 report of a burglary in progress at the residence. The homeowner, who was away on vacation, received an alert from a motion activated interior camera and observed a subject, subsequently identified as Carluccio, in the bedroom rummaging through a closet and dressers. Upon arrival, police located and detained the defendant in the home without incident. Investigation revealed Carluccio had removed a ground floor window air conditioner in order to make entry. It was also determined that Carluccio was an acquaintance of the homeowner’s adult son and was aware the homeowner was away prior to committing the burglary. The defendant was processed on the charge at police headquarters and later released pending a Superior Court Arraignment in Newark on July 16, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. Ptl. Raymond Cassella, Ptl.
