Police Arrest Kinnelon Woman on Shoplifting Charges

On Thursday, December 17, 2015, police arrested 29 year-old Elaina Primallis of Kinnelon on a charge she shoplifted $670.34 worth of store merchandise from the Foodtown Supermarket on Pompton Avenue. The incidents leading to Primallis’ arrest initiated at 8:31 p.m. Thursday when the Foodtown manager called police reporting the theft of 26 cans of baby formula. The manager was able to provide video surveillance footage of the incident and still images of the suspect were transmitted over a police information sharing network. Within 10 minutes, the Pequannock Police contacted Cedar Grove Police identifying Primallis as the suspect. The defendant was contacted and turned herself at police headquarters at 11:55 p.m. She was processed on the charge and later released pending a December 31, 2015 Superior Court Arraignment in Newark. The stolen baby formula has not been recovered at the present time. Ptl. Nicole O’Halloran and Lt. John Kennedy were the investigating officers.
