Detective Bureau Investigation Leads To Arrest

Follow up Investigation by detectives leads to an arrest for theft.

On April 18th 2019 at 11:47 AM a township resident contacted police reporting the theft of over $7,000 in jeweler. The jewelry had been taken from her master bedroom. Several pieces had gone missing over several days. Because there was no signs of forced entry, nor had anyone been in the house, the elderly resident began to suspect their home aid may be involved. Detectives John Smigelsky and Carolyn Lynch were assigned to the case. Detective Smigelsky began to check area gold purchasing business for the jeweler. Detective Smigelsky did locate one of the stolen rings in a local shop. The ring was secured and will be returned to the victim. On May 17th 2019 the home aid was interviewed by detectives and subsequently admitted to the theft. The home aid was found to have an active warrant, she was placed under arrest, charged, and then released pending a June 19th court date. Arrested was 23 year old Shadaisia Bolden of Newark.
