December 30, 2019 – January 5, 2020
 
            On December 30, 2019 at 12:20 p.m., Ptl. Anthony Cardona stopped a vehicle after a random license plate check revealed that the operator had a suspended license. The operator, a 29 year old male from Maplewood, was placed under arrest. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
             
            On December 31, 2019 at 3:04 p.m., Ptl. Nicole Hoyt investigated a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Pompton Avenue and West Bradford Avenue. It was determined that one of the involved drivers had a suspended license. The 22 year old male driver from Irvington was arrested for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On January 1, 2020 at 2:11 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Grigolo stopped a vehicle after observing it being operated in an erratic manner on Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 45 year old male driver from Brooklyn, NY for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On January 1, 2020 at 3:50 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella responded to a Donato Drive address to investigate a hit and run motor vehicle crash. It was determined that a vehicle had backed out of a driveway and struck a parked vehicle. During the investigation the vehicle returned to the scene. The investigation resulted in the arrested of a 24 year old male passenger for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On January 4, 2020 at 8:40 p.m., Ptl. Alan Rock stopped a vehicle for an observed violation. The operator, a 41 year old female from Springfield, was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

            On January 6, 2020 at 7:16 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle for speeding on Pompton Avenue. The operator, a 42 year old male from Wayne, was determined to be operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was arrested, processed and released with a summons to appear in Municipal Court.
             
            On January 7, 2020 at 1:10 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an obstructed windshield. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 25 year old male passenger for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in Municipal Court.
 
            On January 8, 2020 at 11:33 p.m., Ptl. Anthony Grigolo investigated a suspicious vehicle parked in Community Park. The investigation resulted in the arrest of the 20 year old female driver from Cedar Grove for possession of marijuana. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in Municipal Court.
 
            On January 11, 2020 at 7:28 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella responded to Panther Park to investigate a report of a person dumping construction material. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 25 year old male from Clifton for possession of cocaine.  He was processed and released with a summons to appear in Superior Court.

            On January 21, 2020 at 9:18 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Lynch stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 37 year old female passenger from Orange for an outstanding warrant. She was arrested, processed, and transported to the Essex County Jail.
 
On January 22, 2020 at 9:12 p.m., Ptl. Anthony Grigolo investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Montclair Avenue. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the vehicle operator for driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was also impounded after it was determined to be unregistered. The driver, a 25 year old male from Paterson, was processed and released with a summons to appear in Municipal
Court.
 
On January 23, 2020 at 11:45 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The operator, a 29 year old male from Paterson, was arrested after it was determined that his license was suspended. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in Municipal Court.
 
On January 24, 2020 at 8:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shoplifting at the CVS located at 1041 Pompton Avenue. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival. The manager provided a detailed description of the actor along with a license plate and vehicle description. The suspect was identified and charges are pending.
 
On January 25, 2020 at 4:44 a.m., officers engaged in a pursuit of two vehicles observed traveling South on Pompton Avenue at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was terminated at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue. The description of the involved vehicles was broadcast over SPEN. One of the vehicles was stopped by East Orange Police. The vehicle stopped was later determined to be operated by a Cedar Grove resident who had observed two suspicious persons in the Park Ridge Estates area of town. When the actors fled he pursued them with his personal vehicle until he was stopped in East Orange. The vehicle he pursued was able to get away. The resident received a careless driving summon for his actions while pursuing the other vehicle.  
 
On January 25, 2020 at 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft from a Jennie Court residence. Officers canvassed the area and located the vehicle parked on another street in the neighborhood. The victim reports that $1500 in designer pocketbooks and $600 in cash were stolen from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.
 
On January 25, 2020 at 4:30 a.m., officers responded to an Eileen Drive address for a report of a burglary and theft from a vehicle parked in the driveway. It was determined the vehicle had been left unlocked. Unknown actor(s) stole property, including gift cards, jewelry, and cash from the vehicle. The total value of property taken was in excess of $10,000.00. The incident remains under investigation.

On January 26, 2020 at 11:00 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle after a random license plate check on his MDT revealed that the registration was suspended. A subsequent investigation revealed that the 45 year old male driver from Irvington had a suspended license. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in Municipal Court.
