On January 28, 2019 at 11:28 p.m., Sgt. Jose Rodriguez investigated a vehicle stopped in a traffic lane on Pompton Avenue. It was determined that the 50 year old male driver from Hackensack was operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and suspended license. His vehicle was impounded and he was arrested for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On January 29. 2019 at 3:37 p.m., Ptl. Anthony Cardona was on routine patrol when he observed a male running from the Verizon store on Pompton Avenue. A store clerk then flagged him down to report that the person fleeing the store had attempted to steal an iPhone. The officer engaged the suspect in a foot chase before apprehending him along the Peckman River. The 22 year old male from North Bergen was charged with attempted theft, attempted fraud, and resisting arrest. He was released with a summons to appear in Superior Court.
 
On January 29, 2019 at 9:35 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a vehicle for an inoperable headlamp. This resulted in the arrest of the 26 year old male driver from Newark for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 2, 2019 at 2:38 p.m., Ptl. Jason Rivers investigated a report of an erratic driver going north on Pompton Avenue in the area of Bowden Road. The reporting party provided a detailed description of the vehicle which was located and stopped. It was determined that the 53 year old female operator from Nutley was driving while intoxicated. She was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 3, 2019 at 2:51 a.m., Ptl Anthony Grigolo investigated an occupied vehicle with heavy front end damage parked on Cedar Street. The vehicle was found to be running and the driver was asleep behind the wheel. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 27 year old male driver from Springfield for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On February 4, 2019 at 12:35 p.m., officers responded to a Little Falls Road business for a burglary. Unknown actors broke into an employee’s vehicle and stole a large quantity of cash. Surveillance video was obtained and detectives are investigating.
 
On February 5, 2019 at 12:49 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Lynch stopped a vehicle with inoperable license plate lamps. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of both adult male passengers from Montclair for possession of marijuana. They were processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 5, 2019 at 8:32 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle with inoperable tail lamps. It was then determined that the 24 year old male operator from Paterson was driving with a suspended license. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 6, 2019 at 12:38 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Lynch stopped a vehicle with an inoperable license plate lamp. An investigation resulted in the arrest of three adult male passengers for charges ranging from possession of marijuana, hindering apprehension by providing a false name, and outstanding traffic warrants. All were processed and released with summonses to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 8, 2019 at 10:43 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle after observing an object hanging from the rear view mirror obstructing the driver’s view of the road. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 39 year old male driver from Cedar Grove for an outstanding traffic warrant. He was released after posting the required bail.  
 
On February 9, 2019 at 12:30 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle after observing an object hanging from the rear view mirror obstructing the driver’s view of the road. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 19 year old female driver from Cedar Grove for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. She was released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 10, 2019 at 1:02 a.m., Ptl. Justin Westra stopped a vehicle for having dark tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 26 year old male operator from Orange for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 10, 2019 at 8:38 p.m., Ptl. Justin Westra stopped a vehicle for having dark tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 19 year old female operator from Cedar Grove for possession of marijuana. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On February 12, 2019 at 9:34 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. It was then determined that the 31 year old driver from Union had an outstanding traffic warrant. He was arrested and later released with a summons to appear in court.
 
On February 13, 2019 at 10:19 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an obstructed windshield. It was then determined that the operator, a 32 year old male from Newark, was driving with a suspended license. He was also found to have an outstanding traffic warrant. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in court.
 
On February 14, 2019 at 8:43 p.m., officers responded to a burglary in progress to a parked vehicle on Beech Street. A neighbor observed and confronted an individual who was inside the vehicle. The subject then fled into a waiting vehicle that left the area prior to police arrival. The incident remains under investigation.
 
On February 14, 2019 at 10:06 p.m., Sgt. Jose Rodriguez investigated a reported of a man staggering around a vehicle on Pompton Avenue. It was determined that the subject was intoxicated and had been operating the vehicle. The 78 year old male from Cedar Grove was arrested for driving a vehicle while intoxicated. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 15, 2019 at 12:59 a.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. It was then determined that the driver, a 42 year old male from Maryland, was operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was arrested processed and released with a summons to appear in court.
 
On February 15, 2019 at 1:05 p.m., Ptl. Jason Rivers stopped a vehicle displaying a fraudulent inspection decal. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 20 year old female passenger from New York for possession of marijuana. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in court.
 
On February 15, 2019 at 8:43 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. It was then determined that the driver, a 35 year old male from Woodland Park, was operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in court.
 
On February 16, 2019 at 8:43 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. It was then determined that the driver, an 18 year old male from Montclair, was operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was arrested processed and released with a summons to appear in court.
 
On February 17, 2019 at 1:00 a.m., officers and detectives responded to the Pilgrim Diner for a report of a theft of cash from a basement office. The incident remains under investigation.
On February 17, 2019 at 1:36 p.m., officers responded to a Chestnut Court address to investigate a report of an attempted burglary. The resident discovered that someone had pried open a sliding door to a walk out basement. The actor was unable to enter the residence due to a second more secure door. The incident is under investigation by detectives.

On February 18, 2019 at 9:06 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 24 year old male driver from New York for driving while suspended. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 18, 2019 at 5:05 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 23 year old male driver from Newark for driving while suspended. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 19, 2019 at 8:20 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 37 year old male driver from Montclair for driving while suspended. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 20, 2019 at 7:47 p.m., Officer responded to the CVS pharmacy on a report of a prescription fraud. The officers were able to identify and locate the suspect who presented the fraudulent prescription. He was arrested and charged with attempting to obtain CDS by fraud and possession of stolen property. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in Superior Court.
 
On February 22, 2019 at 12:34 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Grigolo stopped a vehicle for speeding on Ridge Road. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 25 year old male driver from Lodi for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 23, 2019 at 12:49 a.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 19 year old female driver from Paterson for possession of marijuana. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 23, 2019 at 3:13 p.m., Ptl. Alan Rock stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of both occupants. The 39 year old male driver from Lyndhurst was charged with possession of marijuana. The 24 year old male passenger from Newark was arrested for outstanding warrants. Both were later released with a summons to appear in court.
