On February 3, 2020 at 9:07 a.m., Ptl. Jason Rivers stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 29 year old male from New Brunswick for driving while suspended. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 3, 2020 at 3:51 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a motorized bicycle that was being operated in an erratic manner. A subsequent investigation revealed that the operator, a 38 year old male from Little Falls, was in possession of an Alprazolam pill that was not prescribed to him. At the time of his arrest he attempted to destroy the pill. He was charged with possession of CDS and hindering his apprehension by attempting to destroy the evidence. He was processed and transported to the Essex County Jail.
 
On February 4, 2020 at 12:28 a.m., Ptl. Justin Westra investigated a suspicious vehicle parked on Old Quarry Road in the area of Mills Reservation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 27 year old male driver from Cedar Grove and his 25 year old female passenger from Garfield for possession of CDS. Both were processed and released with summonses to appear in municipal court.
 
 
On February 5, 2020 at 11:49 a.m., Ptl. Alan Rock stopped a vehicle after a random license plate check on his MDT revealed that the driver had a suspended license and that the vehicle’s registration was suspended. The driver, a 26 year old male from Newark, was arrested and his vehicle was impounded. He was later released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 6, 2020 at 6:54 p.m., Ptl. Anthony Grigolo stopped a vehicle after receiving a BOLO about a vehicle wanted in connection with a shoplifting at the Willowbrook Mall. Ptl. Grigolo stopped the vehicle after observing it being operated in an erratic manner. The operator received numerous summonses for traffic violations. All of the occupants were turned over to Wayne Police for the shoplifting offense.
 
On February 7, 2020 at 12:03 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle for not displaying an inspection decal in the windshield. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 53 year old female driver from Columbia for driving with a suspended license. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
             
On February 7, 2020 at 12:05 p.m., Ptl. Jason Rivers stopped a vehicle after observing the operator using a hand held cell phone while driving and an expired inspection decal displayed in the windshield. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 22 year old male driver from Paterson for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 8, 2020 at 9:36 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an inoperable center brake lamp. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 29 year old male passenger from Bronx, NY for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court. The driver was issued numerous traffic summonses and released with a court date.

On February 13, 2020 at 7:40 p.m., Ptl. Justin Westra responded to a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash along Fairview Avenue. A witness followed the vehicle and pointed it out to responding officers. During the investigation Ptl. Westra determined that the driver who attempted to leave the scene was intoxicated. The 43 year old female driver from Caldwell was arrested, processed and released with a summons to appear in court. The vehicle was impounded.
 
On February 14, 2020 at 1:58 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson responded to Cedar Beans located at 575 Pompton Avenue on a report of a cell phone theft. The business owner reported that his cell phone, which was left on the service counter, was stolen by an Amazon delivery person who had just delivered a package to the store. Store surveillance video captured the theft. The phone was later recovered and returned. Charges are pending.
 
On February 16, 2020 at 3:47 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas responded to the area of Ozone Avenue and Grove Avenue on a report of an intoxicated male with a chainsaw in the woods. An investigation revealed that the 59 year old male from Caldwell had driven to the wooded area to obtain some firewood. He was also determined to be intoxicated. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On February 18, 2020 at 2:22 a.m., Ptl. Justin Westra stopped a vehicle for speeding along Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 31 year old male driver from East Orange for driving with a suspended license and an outstanding warrant. He was processed and released to the custody of Dunellen Police for the outstanding warrant.
 
On February 19, 2020 at 3:48 a.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle for failing to keep right. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 24 year old male driver from Bloomfield for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.  
 
On February 22, 2020 at 12:19 a.m., Ptl. Justin Westra investigated a suspicious vehicle on Cliffside Drive. The investigation resulted in the arrest of the 18 year old male driver from Little Falls for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On February 22, 2020 at 11:34 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle for an obstructed windshield. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 34 year old male driver from West Orange for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
