            On September 4, 2017 at 5:04 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with a tinted cover obstructing the license plate. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 26 year old male operator out of Newark for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On September 4, 2017 at 9:04 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume checked on a suspicious vehicle parked behind a local business. An investigation resulted in the arrest of the 18 year old male driver and 21 year old male passenger out of Woodland Park for possession of marijuana.
 
            On September 5, 2017 at 3:45 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 34 year old male operator for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On September 6, 2017 at 12:27 a.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 28 year old male operator out Verona for driving with a suspended license.
 
            On September 6, 2017 at 4:30 p.m., Ptl. Jason Rivers took a report of a theft of a mason dump truck from a local business owner. The incident remains under investigation.
 
            On September 8, 2017 at 8:41 a.m., Ptl. Michael Grasso stopped a vehicle after observing the operator talking on her cell phone while driving. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 25 year old female operator out of Paterson for driving with a suspended license. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On September 9, 2017 at 3:13 a.m., Ptl. Justin Westra stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 49 year old male passenger out of Newark for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On September 9, 2017 at 12:26 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck stopped a vehicle with dark tinted windows. The operator, a 30 year old male out of Edison, was subsequently arrested after it was determined that his driving privileges were suspended. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On September 9, 2017 at 5:40 p.m., Patrol officers and detectives investigated a drug overdose at a Bowden Road address. Police were contacted by Mountainside Hospital after an adult male was dropped off at the emergency room entrance in cardiac arrest. A subsequent investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant and the arrest of a 56 year old male out of Cedar Grove on drug related charges. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in court. OVERDOSE PREVENTION ACT (2C:35-30). Allows individuals to report drug overdoses without the fear of being arrested. The purpose is to encourage victims and witnesses of drug overdoses to seek medical assistance to save lives. Police responding to a drug overdose can provide medical assistance and administer Naloxone (Narcan). In this incident, the police were not summoned to provide medical assistance.

            On September 13, 2017 at 4:38 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Cardona took a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The victim had left the vehicle running and unattended in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. The incident remains under investigation.

 

            On September 13, 2017 at 4:22 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a vehicle following a SPEN radio broadcast of a shoplifting at Dick’s Sporting Goods. He observed the vehicle travelling south on Pompton Avenue. The vehicle occupants were in possession of store merchandise. They were detained and turned over to Wayne Police officers.

 

            On September 14, 2017 at 9:22 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The vehicle operator, a 51 year old male out of Newark, was arrested after it was determined that his driver’s license was suspended. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

 

            On September 16, 2017 at 12:37 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 20 year old male driver from West Orange and 25 year old male passenger from Bloomfield for possession of marijuana. Both were processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

            On September 20, 2017 at 4:48 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas responded to Foodtown for a shoplifting reported by the store manager. The manager had provided a description of the actor who was located by Ptl. Ligas in the parking lot. The actor, a 48 year old male out of Newark, was subsequently placed under arrest after it was determined that he had taken numerous over the counter medications without payment from the store. The value of the products taken was $168.92.
 
            On September 22, 2017 at 1:22 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Cardona stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 24 year old female operator out of East Orange for driving with a suspended license. She was also charged with hindering her apprehension by providing a false name to avoid her arrest. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On September 22, 2017 at 4:07 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an obstructed windshield. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 31 year old male operator out of Bloomfield for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
 
            On September 22, 2017 at 6:13 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle with an obstructed windshield. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 36 year old female operator out of East Orange for driving with a suspended license. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
 
            On September 22, 2017 police officers and detectives responded three burglaries to township residences. All of the homes were unoccupied at the time. The burglaries are under investigation by the detective bureau.
 
            On September 23, 2017 at 4:35 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck stopped a vehicle with tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 26 year old female operator out of Clifton for driving with a suspended license. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
            On September 23, 2017 at 5:46 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella conducted a random license place check on his MDT which revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license.  He confirmed that the owner was the operator of the vehicle. The operator, a 28 year old male out of Orange, was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
