On September 5, 2018 at 11:04 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a vehicle after a random license plate check on his mobile data terminal revealed that the operators driving privileges were suspended. A further investigation also revealed that he was wanted by the Essex County Sheriff’s Department.  The driver, a 43 year old male from Verona, was arrested, processed and transported to the county jail.
 
On September 7, 2018 at 3:55 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with a broken tail light. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 24 year old male driver from West Orange for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On September 8, 2018 at 11:21 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an expired inspection decal.  A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, a 35 year old male from Caldwell, was wanted by the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. He was also in possession of marijuana. During the course of the investigation the subject attempted to flee the officer on foot but was apprehended after a brief foot chase. He was charged with escape, eluding and possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Essex County Jail.
 
On September 8, 2018 at 11:50 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Lynch stopped a vehicle with dark tinted windows.  A subsequent investigation revealed that the operator, a 38 year old male from Paterson, was driving with a suspended license. He was arrested, processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On September 12, 2018 at 12:52 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Grigolo stopped a vehicle for an inoperable license plate lamp. A further investigation resulted in the arrest of the 36 year old male operator from Garfield for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On September 16, 2018 at 12:08 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Grigolo stopped a vehicle for speeding along Pompton Avenue. A further investigation resulted in the arrest of the 46 year old male operator from Cedar Grove for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On September 17, 2018 at 4:02 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck stopped a vehicle with an expired inspection decal. It was determined that the 22 year old operator from Fort Lee was driving with a suspended license. He was arrested, processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On September 20, 2018 Ptl. Joseph Russomanno took a report of a fraud from an employee at a Pompton Avenue business. The victim received a call from a person identifying themself as an employee of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. He told the victim that he had an outstanding warrant for $1600.00. The victim was instructed to get a prepaid debit card to post his bail. The victim paid $435 before suspecting that he was defrauded.
 
On September 22, 2018 at 12:36 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an obstructed windshield and dark tinted windows. It was later determined that the driver, a 29 year old male from Montclair, was operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was arrested, processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On September 23, 2018 at 11:15 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner which was delaying traffic. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 25 year old male operator from Verona for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
