On October 1, 2018 at 08:23 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella investigated a report of a theft of a purse from a vehicle parked in the Saint Catherine of Siena Church parking lot. The victim left her purse in the locked vehicle while walking her child to the school. Detectives investigating the incident were able to obtain video of the theft. As a result of their investigation a suspect has been identified and charges are pending.
 
On October 1, 2018 at 5:35 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an inoperable brake lamp. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 25 year old male driver from Orange for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 4, 2018 at 1:57 a.m., Ptl. Nicole Witel stopped a vehicle for driving in an erratic manner along Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 59 year old male driver from Verona for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 4, 2018 at 8:045 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle for failing to stop for a red traffic signal. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 24 year old male driver from Verona for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 5, 2018 at 5:36 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an inoperable brake lamp and dark tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 26 year old male driver from West Orange for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was also found to have an outstanding traffic warrant from the West Orange Municipal Court. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On October 9, 2018 at 1:53 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Grigolo stopped a vehicle for speeding along Ridge Road. A subsequent investigation led to the discovery of crack cocaine and heroin inside the vehicle. The driver, a 48 year old male from Verona, was arrested, charged, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court. 
 
On October 10, 2018 at 1:07 p.m., Sgt. Jose Rodriguez stopped a vehicle after a random plate check on his MDT revealed that the displayed registration was incorrect. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 40 year old male driver from East Orange for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.  He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 12, 2018 at 1:19 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Lynch stopped a vehicle after observing the operator using a hand held cellular phone while driving. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 47 year old male driver from Verona for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On October 19, 2018 at 14:28 p.m., Ptl. Alan Rock stopped a suspicious vehicle in the area of Lafayette Drive. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 37 year old male driver from Garfield for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 20, 2018 at 3:13 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck stopped a vehicle with no front license plate. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 44 year old male driver from Montclair for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 21, 2018 at 2:06 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle after a random license plate check revealed that an improper registration was displayed on a vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. The operator, a 22 year old male driver from Pennsylvania, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and an outstanding traffic warrant. He was later released with a summons after posting the required bail.

On October 22, 2018 Ptl. Nicole Witel took a report of credit card fraud committed against a patient at a local nursing home. The patient’s debit card was used to make numerous fraudulent purchases in excess of $4,000.00. Detective Carolyn Lynch conducted a lengthy investigation that led back to a suspect that provided care for the victim while she was being treated at a facility in Morristown, NJ.  Charges against the suspect are pending.
 
On October 22, 2018 at 11:28 p.m., Ptl. Anthony Cardona stopped a vehicle with an inoperable front headlamp. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 49 year old male driver from Montclair for possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 27, 2018 at 2:14 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain a lane. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of two of the vehicles occupants for possession of marijuana. A 28 year old female and 20 year old male, both from Levittown, PA were processed and released with summonses to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 28, 2018 at 3:53 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Cardona stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain a lane on Ridge Road. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 24 year old female driver from Verona for driving while intoxicated. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
