On October 8, 2019 at 4:01 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas responded to the Staples parking lot at 93 Pompton Avenue after an off duty officer reported that an individual was using CDS. The subject fled in his vehicle after he was approached by the off duty officer. The subject was identified and later arrested. The 25 year old male from Essex Fells was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 9, 2019 Ptl. Robert Hectus took a report of a theft from a Pompton Avenue business owner. The victim reported fraudulent actively after conducting an audit of his business accounts. The amount of the theft is in excess of $15,000. The incident is being investigated by the detective bureau.
 
On October 11, 2019 at 12:52 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle with an inoperable brake lamp. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 23 year old male driver from Cedar Grove for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On October 14, 2019 at 1:25 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck investigated a motor vehicle crash on Rugby Road. The investigation revealed that one of the drivers, a 24 year old male from Elizabeth, had a suspended license. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 14, 2019 at 2:47 p.m., Ptl. Jason Rivers stopped a vehicle that did not have an inspection decal displayed in the windshield. It was determined that the driver, a 43 year old male from Orange, was operating a vehicle with a suspended license. The driver initially provided false information to avoid being arrested and his license suspension was for a prior DWI offense. He was arrested and charged with driving during a license suspension for DWI. He was released with a summons to appear in Superior Court.
 
On October 17, 2019 at 9:35 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle that did not have an inspection sticker displayed in the windshield. It was determined that the operator, a 49 year old female from Orange, was driving with a suspended license. She was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On October 18, 2019 at 10:15 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume responded to the area of Rt. 23 and Grove Avenue on a report of a possible drunk driver. He located and stopped a vehicle matching the description provided by the reporting party. The vehicle was being operated with a flat tire at the time of the stop. The driver, a 45 year old male from Newark, was arrested after it was determined that he was driving while intoxicated. His vehicle was impounded and he was released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On October 21, 2019 at 11:51 p.m., Ptl. Alan Rock responded to a Devonshire Road address on a report of a burglary to multiple vehicles in a driveway. Unknown actors entered the vehicles which were left unlocked. A cell phone was stolen from one of the vehicles.
 
On October 23, 2019 at 7:08 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck responded to a Beverly Road address on a report of a burglary to a vehicle in a driveway. Unknown actors entered the vehicle which was left unlocked. A laptop was stolen from a backpack left on the front seat. 
 
On October 23, 2019 at 7:16 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella responded to an Essex Road address on a report of a burglary to a vehicle in a driveway. Unknown actors entered the vehicle which was left unlocked. A small amount of cash was stolen from the vehicle. 
 
On October 23, 2019 at 7:38 a.m., Sgt. Jason Wolfstirn responded to a Franklin Street address on a report of a burglary to a vehicle in a driveway. Unknown actors entered the vehicle which was left unlocked. The vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was taken.   
 
On October 23, 2019 at 7:36 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella responded to an Essex Road address on a report of a burglary to a vehicle in a driveway. Unknown actors entered the vehicle which was left unlocked. The vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was taken.  
 
On October 23, 2019 at 10:10 a.m., Lt. Francis Pumphrey responded to an Essex Road address on a report of a burglary to a vehicle in a driveway. Unknown actors entered the vehicle which was left unlocked. The vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was taken.  
 
On October 23, 2019 at 12:22 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella responded to a Devonshire Road address on a report of a burglary to a vehicle in a driveway. Unknown actors entered the vehicle which was left unlocked. The vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was taken.
 
On October 23, 2019 at 5:04 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a vehicle with a cracked windshield. It was determined that the operator, a 32 year old male from Totowa, was driving with a suspended license. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court
