On October 30, 2018 at 10:18 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle displaying an expired inspection decal. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 30 year old male driver from Verona for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On October 30, 2018 at 10:48 a.m., Ptl. Alan Rock stopped a vehicle for failing to obey a stop sign. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 27 year old female driver from Paterson for driving with a suspended license. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 1, 2018 at 12:17 p.m., Ptl. Kristian Schneider investigated reports of a suspicious person looking into numerous vehicles in a parking lot of a Cliffside Drive business. The subject, a 27 year old male from Paterson, was located and arrested after it was determined that he was wanted by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department. He was turned over to sheriff’s officers and transported to the county jail.
 
On November 2, 2018 at 1:48 a.m., officers responded to a Highview Terrace address for a report of a burglary in process. The homeowner awoke to a noise coming from his driveway. He checked his Ring security camera and observed someone inside his vehicle. The homeowner confronted and detained the individual until officers arrived. The 20 year old male from Little Falls was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in court. Forty minutes after his release officers responded to the area of Tierney Drive for a subject attempting to enter numerous vehicles.  Arriving offices located the same individual and determined that he was attempting to burglarize the vehicles. He was again arrested, processed, and transported to the Essex County Jail.
 
On November 2, 2018 at 4:35 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle displaying an expired inspection decal. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 22 year old male driver from Weehawken for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On November 6, 2018 at 12:06 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle for failing to observe a stop sign. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 23 year old female driver from Bloomfield for possession of marijuana. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court
 
On November 7, 2018 at 6:45 a.m., officers responded to the CVS located at 387 Pompton Avenue for a report of a shoplifting. Store employees provided a description of the actor who was located and detained a short distance from the store. The actor, a 54 year old male from East Orange, was found to be in possession of store merchandise concealed in his backpack. He was arrested, processed, and transported to the Essex County Jail.
 
On November 8, 2018 at 3:28 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a vehicle with a tinted cover over the rear license plate. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 28 year old male operator from Cedar Grove for driving while suspended. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 8, 2018 at 3:50 p.m., Ptl. Alan Rock stopped a vehicle with an expired inspection decal. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 25 year old male driver from Bloomfield for driving while suspended. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 9, 2018 at 8:15 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a vehicle with an inoperable headlamp. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 19 year old male driver from West Orange for possession of marijuana and a fraudulent driver’s license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 10, 2018 at 1:46 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Cardona stopped a vehicle for speeding along Ridge Road. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 21 year old male operator from Belford, NJ for driving while intoxicated. He was process and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 10, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., Ptl. Kristian Schneider took a report of a theft of a purse from a motor vehicle parked in front of a business on Pompton Avenue. The detective bureau is investigating the incident.
 
On November 10, 2018 at 3:37 p.m., Ptl. Nicole Witel took a report of a shoplifting that occurred at the Nicholas Markets Foodtown. A suspect was identified and the incident remains under investigation.
 
On November 10, 2018 at 5:18 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Russomanno investigated a report of a motor vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that one of the involved drivers, a 21 year old female from West Orange, was driving with a suspended license. She was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On November 12, 2018 at 12:33 p.m., Ptl. Alan Rock investigated a report of a female ingesting CDS in the area of Pompton Avenue and West Bradford Avenue. He located the female and determined that she was ingesting Dust Off, a compressed electronics cleaning gas, through a straw into her nose. The 37 year old female from Montclair was placed under arrest for inhaling a toxic chemical for the purpose of intoxication. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 13, 2018 at 11:22 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle being operated with no front plate and no inspection decal. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 28 year old male operator from Hewitt for driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was also impounded after it was found to be unregistered and uninsured. The operator was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 13, 2018 at 8:52 p.m., Ptl. Justin Westra stopped a vehicle for speeding along Ridge Road. It was determined that the operator, a 20 year old male from West Orange, was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant. He was arrested, processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 17, 2018 at 5:01 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a vehicle for having inoperable break lamps. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 42 year old passenger from East Orange for an outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Essex County Jail.
 
On November 17, 2018 at 9:54 p.m. Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a vehicle for speeding along Ridge Road. It was determined that the operator, a 54 year old male from Cedar Grove, was driving while intoxicated. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 18, 2018 at 9:06 a.m., Ptl. Alan Rock stopped a vehicle for speeding along Pompton Avenue. It was determined that the operator, a 23 year old male from Orange, was driving with a suspended license. He was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On November 19, 2018 at 7:07 a.m., officers responded to a Glen Rock Road address after seeing a social media post on the Ring camera network showing a suspicious person wearing a hoodie attempting to enter a vehicle in a driveway. Officers located the involved residence and determined that despite the attempt no access was gained. Addition video was obtained from another residence in the neighborhood showing the same actor walking across their yard. These incidents are under investigation. Residents should immediately contact the police to investigate any activity they believe to be suspicious.
 
On November 20, 2018 at 7:43 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson was patrolling the area of Reservoir Ridge due to the recent suspicious activity. A random license plate check of a vehicle that had entered the neighborhood revealed that the operators driving privileges were suspended. The vehicle was stopped and a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 39 year old male passenger from Mount Vernon, NY for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
 
On November 25, 2018 at 7:29 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Johnson stopped a vehicle after observing the operator disregard a red traffic signal. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 47 year old male operator from Cedar Grove for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
